I'm very sorry I haven't been around much... I've been trying to catch up on some things. Such as my training and attempting to try and get through the paperwork and research done on the island we're on... I apologize to anyone who's been affected by my absence.

However, if need be, I'm still willing to train anyone who's interested in learning how to handle a sword, I hear there may be some meitous on this island, so if anyone would like to join me for a while looking for them, they are welcome.

In my general time as a Marine, I very rarely come upon a pirate who is deserving of such swords.

Your assumption was that swords are created 'equal' as it were; differing in make and maker, style and appearance, but above all, that they are neutral tools; without a nature, except that which their current wielder bestows upon them by their use.

This is a lie.

A sword is no more a blank slate than a person. Merely giving it a different man or woman will not change its inherent nature, once it has acquired one - and I can assure you that all the current meitou have existed long enough to acquire one.

Some swords suit Marines - your style of Marines - and others suit the types of pirates you usually hunt down. This is simply how it is. No amount of misplaced good intentions will change it.

However, if swords are blank, just as are human beings, then they should be considered equal. They have personalities, as do everyone who lives and breathes.

Also, as every man, woman and child are all created as equals, all born the same way -- well most are -- and all have choices. These swords may chose their owners, but they see the good inside of whomever they chose and are usually abused by those whom decide it. As humans, animals have more than one suitable mate, so to say, so do those these swords. At least as what I have seen.

My goal is to take these swords from the people who abuse their power and find the ones who do deserve, who does belong with one of these swords. Be it Marine or a good pirate.

When a sword is made, it is as a baby - essentially blank, but it's 'DNA', the form in which it was made, its purpose, the first wielder, its smith, may shape the path it takes.

Some meitou have grown to like killing, and not of the unjust - of anyone, or of only the just. There are good people and bad people, there are good swords and bad swords.

The chance of a sword changing its 'personality' if you will, is much like a person changing their life around completely. Some swords can do it, with a patient and determined wielder. Others will simply make sure to get that wielder killed so they can get one more suited to them.

The swords will find those whom they like, or like to abuse. You only delay them.
